Last-minute holiday shopping just got a lot easier for a bunch of people in Metro Vancouver.
Online retail giant Amazon.ca announced this week it is launching same-day delivery for select areas of Metro Vancouver — to all the postal codes listed here.
Same-day delivery will be available seven days a week, with packages guaranteed to arrive by 9 p.m. should an order be placed by noon. Commercial addresses only open during regular business hours may not be eligible for the service.
Amazon Prime members will pay $6.99 for same-day deliveries, while non-Prime customers will pay $11.99 for the first item and an additional $1.99 for each additional item.
The book retailer has branched out into dozens of e-commerce categories, from housewares to toys and electronics, and its U.S. launch of same-day service boasted more than a million available items. (In order to determine what’s available for same-day delivery, click on the ‘Get It Today’ filter.)
Other retailers including eBay and Wal-Mart have already introduced quick delivery in the Greater Toronto area, but Amazon is getting the jump on its competitors with the Vancouver launch. Amazon.ca’s same-day delivery is also available in Toronto effective immediately.
